Survivor Game Changers Power Rankings Week 3 (New)

I have been watching this show since 2008, and it's been fun as I've watched every season except when they had pairs verse each other. Now that I have a blog I might as well post my opinion on how well they are doing. Since Malcolm just got voted off, everyone that is still playing the game will be in the standings, starting from the top.

(This will be my first power rankings after already 3 weeks into Survivor. I'll try to post one every week until the finale.)
I hope Zeke and Andrea will make it far in this game! They are my favorites this season.

I base the rankings on the odds of being eliminated next. The higher rank, the safer.

16. J.T. Thomas

It was J.T.’s decision to get up and talk to Brad that sparked everyone starting to scramble. What’s worse, though, is that his intended result of that was far from what actually transpired. His hope, presumably was to have Sandra voted out—which admittedly isn’t a bad hope for him. Instead, the one emerging ally he had on Nuku was voted out and everyone on his tribe now has even more distaste for him. J.T. is now the first name on the chopping block.

15. Hali Ford
I give Hali a lot of credit for her aggressive approach at tribal council. On the outside looking in at the Mana camp, Hali will be in a bad position at every tribal council they attend and will have to work hard to stay each and every time. She has already avoided elimination at two tribal councils, and that's great, but unless she solidifies a bond with someone I think her luck will run out.

14. Sandra Diaz-Twine

Though not J.T. and even with one of the players on Nuku seemingly on board with voting her out now gone (bye, Malcolm), the spot that Sandra Diaz-Twine is in right now is still not a favorable one by any stretch. She’s still playing a game that seems entirely to aggressive for her as a particular player and that will ultimately come back to blow up in her face. J.T. is pretty obviously going to be the next target for Nuku. However, with Malcolm gone there’s not another obvious option.

13. Debbie Wanner

Honestly, this is heavily influenced by the preview for episode 5 in which she starts blowing up on the entirety of the Mana tribe. It’s hard to separate what you see during a week’s episode from the brief tidbits that you get for the following week. So for her to seemingly be out of the power atop the Mana tribe and then having her challenging Brad in the next episode, a person so clearly calling the shots, Debbie seems to be putting herself in a position for an earlier exit.

12. Aubry Bracco

Aubry has been invisible in Game Changers. Her appearances in the premiere lead me to think that might be a bit of a drastic way of assessing her inactivity. That’s what she is to this point and, especially as a part of Nuku, she’s going to need to change that. What else do I write about her? (lol)

11. Michaela Bradshaw

Of the many things that were enjoyable and crazy about Tribal Council in episode 4, Michaela’s facial expressions were my favorite. While J.T. was burying his head in his hands after realizing how badly he played the situation, Michaela looked like everything was the worst news she’d ever heard. What’s working in her favor is that she doesn’t have much of a target on her back right now.

10. Tai Trang

Tai is one of the hardest to pinpoint in the standings. He was able to find the Hidden Immunity Idol prior to the epic Tribal Council, as someone from Mana was going home if no one finds an idol. But really, that’s just a reason as to why Tai isn’t lower on these rankings than ninth. Quite honestly, the game he’s playing right now gives him no real long-term future. While Tai isn’t in the greatest spot, he wasn’t in a place where it was 100% necessary for him to tell Mana minus Hali about finding the idol.

9. Jeff Varner

I think Jeff seems to me to be in the best potential spot among his crazy Nuku tribe. He seems well-liked with everyone and, though he’s followed Sandra to this point, also seems to be aware and independent enough to not get completely dragged down with her. Then again, it’s a bit hard to get a read on Nuku other than to say that they royally screwed up at Tribal.

8. Sarah Lacina

Sarah really wasn’t present much during episode 4 of Game Changers. That can be said of most of the Tavua tribe. However, not being on the lower-half of Mana or simply being on Nuku is enough to boost your power. Sarah is playing a fine game to this point. We’ll see if either aspect of that changes when Tavua starts coming more into the forefront.

7. Zeke Smith

Zeke is another player who didn’t receive much airtime when it came to episode 4 of Survivor Game Changers, simply because he was on the tribe that won Immunity. There’s not much you can do about that, but it also works in his favor. After all, when you look at what went down at Tribal Council, it worked out pretty horribly for the majority of the players on either Nuku or Mana. Zeke still has a seemingly decent alliance forming with Cirie, and he seems to be in a nice enough spot.

6. Andrea Boehlke

Simply by virtue of being on Tavua, Andrea is in the upper side of the standings. Unfortunately for her, she continues to be on the outsides of the game and not totally in the mix in any kind of major way, though sealing the Immunity Challenge win was admittedly a good look for her. Things are slightly more favorable for her, but she needs to make something happen to be considered in a substantially better position moving forward.

5. Cirie Fields

Cirie remains in a good spot as, somehow, it seems that she’s being underestimated as a strategic player within here own tribe. However, it seems that this fourth-time player has quality alliances on the tribe and no one is considering her as the threat that she is. Cirie has made friends once again and feels like a player lying low until the opportunity to strike presents itself.

4. Troyzan Robertson

This might be the most shocking of the rankings considering that Troyzan looked quite terrible in episode 4 of Survivor Game Changers. He lost the Tavua tribe the Reward Challenge with his horrible throwing, and then was selected to sit out the Immunity Challenge—which they won. That would put him on the chopping block and he’s likely going to get five votes against him if that’s the case. But he has the idol that no one knows about. That's why he is up here.

3. Ozzy Lusth

Somehow, episode 4 in terms of all of the action that included Tavua all made Ozzy look great. His fishing game remains on-point and it was pretty clear that his tribe-mates see the value in that, as Andrea and Troyzan awed in the stingray he caught. What’s more, he continued of still being able to lead his tribe when it comes to challenges. Though he’s had plenty of success in his three previous appearances, the reason Ozzy hasn’t gotten over the hump is simply because of his lack of value in the social game and his over-evaluation of his physical prowess and provider role.

2. Sierra Dawn-Thomas

This is big about the position that Sierra is in that Tai was willing to give her (“the pretty lady” as he called her; I laughed so much as I re-watched the Tribal Council) the idol at Tribal Council. She’s right there in the front of the car driving Mana forward right now. It was Sierra that was first offering up Malcolm as who they should target on Nuku. And we all know who ultimately went home. Toss that in with her Legacy Advantage she still has and she’s definitely in a great spot right now.

1. Brad Culpepper

This is a no-brainer at the top of the Survivor Game Changers Power Rankings. Brad is running the game and everyone knows it. Tai felt compelled to tell him about the idol, then looked to Brad to see who he should give the idol to. He’s controlling Mana without question, but even has power recognizable to other tribes.  That’s interesting because when the merge comes as he could be a target, but he’s bulletproof for now it would seem. He also brought his team from a come from behind second place victory in the reward challenge. That's why he's number one at the moment.

Now at the end here here is Malcolm's interview after being blindsided:

NBA: The Race For an Eastern Conference Playoff Seed

(Written on March 18, 2017)

5 teams in the East are fighting for 3 playoff seeds. Who will make it through?

The Pacers, Bucks, and the Heat are already in a spot, while the Pistons and the Bulls are on the outside looking in. But with only 3.5 games separating these 5 teams (as of this writing), it may change. Who will make it through?

The Indiana Pacers are the highest ranked team out of these 5, but had their ups and downs this season. They're great at home but are terrible on the road (11-23). Indy got a big win against the Miami Heat on Sunday that felt like a potential tone-setter. But then the Pacers fell to the Knicks, which quickly halted momentum. And if it seems like that sort of fits-and-starts dichotomy has come to define this Pacers season, it's because it has. Since Feb. 16, Indy has alternated wins and losses. That's a full month of one step forward and one step back, and it's getting to the point where a streak of any kind would feel strange. More broadly, it's hard to be this inconsistent when Paul George keeps being spectacular. He hit the Hornets for a season-high 39 points to close out Indy's ranking session Wednesday and is averaging 25.6 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last five games. Will they hold on? On paper, yes. A 2.5 game lead over the Pistons who have lost 3 games in a row helps, but with tough teams coming up in the last parts of the season, they might not hold on to the 6th seed.

The Milwaukee Bucks' recent run with Giannis Antetokounmpo being an extraterrestrial force, and Khris Middleton stabilizing a shaky perimeter shooting corps, has been great. But there's been a defensive component that has also quietly contributed to the Bucks' stretch of eight wins in their last ten games. They're limiting opponents' three-point attempts. Before the All-Star break, Milwaukee ranked 28th in the NBA by allowing 30.2 long-range tries per 100 possessions. Since the break, they've trimmed that number to 24.1, which ranks fifth. The sample is still small, but that's a good explanation of why the Bucks defense has climbed from 21st before the All-star break to 12th after it. Even Jabari Parker's injury has not affected the Bucks' recent surge. Will they hold on? Currently in playoff position, Milwaukee must lean on its improved defense to sustain their current playoff spot.

The Miami Heat were awful early on, losing players like Chris Bosh and Justice Winslow, who  both announced that they would miss the entire season, At January 1, they were one of the lottery teams as their record was a measly 11-30. But a huge turnaround had them winning 13 straight games, with Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters leading the way. Up to this writing they are 22-5 and are now in a playoff spot. Players like James Johnson, Wayne Ellington, and Luke Babbitt have helped the Heat become a prolific three point shooting team, one that uses drives from Waiters and Dragic to suck in the defense and then kick out the ball to open shooters. Since the win streak began, the Heat are 6th in offensive efficiency and 3rd in defensive efficiency in the entire league. But just a few days ago they lost Waiters due to an injury. Will they hold on? Holding on to the 8th seed by half a game, it is hard to say, but if they continue their winning ways, they would have a great shot making the playoffs.

The Detroit Pistons have been struggling with lots of ups and downs this season. If the Pistons hope to separate themselves from the morass of mediocrity stumbling into playoff spots in the East, it'll have to be more than just any team."We haven't been good in back-to-backs anyway, and that's the worst we've been," Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said after the Utah loss, via Rod Beard of the Detroit News. "We didn't play either game well at all and really didn't have a legitimately good stretch in either game." If the Pistons can maintain the level of play they’ve shown since the beginning of February, they can definitely make the playoffs - with or without a move at the trade deadline. The bench, particularly Ish Smith, have played really well this month. Will they make the playoffs? Just two of Detroit's nine remaining games in March will come against playoff teams. This upcoming stretch could make or break the Pistons' season. If they miss the playoffs, it won’t be because they had a huge road trip to the west coast or because the schedule suddenly got tough on them. It’ll be because they didn’t play well enough during a relatively easy portion of the schedule. The Pistons should make the playoffs. Whether or not they will is entirely up to them.

The Chicago Bulls are in a tight position. As a surprise to exactly no one, the Chicago Bulls‘ up-and-down season has resulted in them fighting for their playoff lives. Similar to last year, the Bulls have posted impressive wins against some of the top teams in the league such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, whom they have beaten three times, the Raptors, Spurs and yes, even the Golden State Warriors. But the Bulls have also dropped games to the likes of the Lakers, Suns, Mavericks (twice) and a New York Knicks team (twice) that will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season. With just 13 games remaining in the 2016-17 campaign, the Bulls sit at 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, one game behind the eighth-place Detroit Pistons. They could be in a better position right now, but players like Nikola Mirotic is having the worst season of his career in a Bulls uniform. In fact, Mirotic is averaging career lows in points (9.4 per game), field goal percentage (39 percent) and three-point shooting (31 percent). Then they lost Dwyane Wade last week against the Grizzlies. At least they still have Jimmy G. Buckets on their team. He is still a clutch player. Over the next seven games, things will not get any easier for the Bulls. During that stretch, they will face six teams who are currently jockeying for position in the playoff race. The good news is the Bulls will conclude the 2016-17 campaign with a somewhat favorable schedule. Out of the seven games they will play in April, only one of those teams (the Atlanta Hawks) is above the .500 mark. Will they make the playoffs? It comes down to their rotation. They are going to have to rely on their veteran players who know what it takes to win on a nightly basis.

So there you have it! If I picked who will make the playoffs and who wouldn't, my standings would look like this:

6. Bucks 42-40
7. Pacers 41-41
8. Bulls 40-42
9. Pistons 40-42
10. Heat 40-42

It will be very close, but tiebreakers make it that the Bulls are seeded higher than the Pistons because of their division record. The Heat have a tough schedule and will fall apart. The Pacers and the Bucks have enough firepower to make it in in my opinion.

The Simpsons Season 18 Episode 1: The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer

Watch Online Here!

I have never watched this episode before until now. Let's see if it's a good episode!

I may post a quick summary.

UPDATE: There WILL be a summary!

The story is about a boy named Michael, who happens to be the son of Fat Tony. Students just discover who was his father when he had to return pick up his math book at home. He don't wanna take his father's business and Lisa helps him to announce that to his father. The story turn around that situation. The episode is not that funny but, like in all episodes, the characters make it hilarious. I loved the Metallica appearance, even if it doesn't had any goal.

He was befriended by Lisa and that lead for the Simpson clan to meet Fat Tony. When Tony was wounded, Homer and Bart step in. The stuff in this episode is very funny and when Homer and Bart acting like gangsters, It's both great stuff. Meanwhile, Michael wanted to be a cook than a gangster. He wanted to be different from his father, but in the end he had a change of heart.

This was a nice episode overall and a good start to season 18.
Rating: B+

I also found this review online and I think this is a good one too.

Final Words: When Homer and Bart were part of the Mafia, there was a funny "truck joke." Watch and you'll get a good chuckle.
