Tuesday Tidbits #4

What will this week's tidbit be? Again, it could be anything that I've noticed or like, it could be a random thing about my life. So here is the fourth edition of Tuesday Tidbits.

Every time it stops raining  outside my place, I always open my window out for two reasons. Reason one is pretty simple. I want to see how hard it rained (I can tell because the objects that got wet (the heavier it rained, the more objects got wet), but reason two is a bit more interesting. My other reason is that I love the smell of the air after it rains. There are distinct odors that come up after a rainfall.

Quoted from LiveScience: "One of these odors, called "petrichor," lingers when rain falls after a prolonged dry spell. Petrichor — the term was coined in 1964 by two Australian scientists studying the smells of wet weather — is derived from a pair of chemical reactions."

"Some plants secrete oils during dry periods, and when it rains, these oils are released into the air. The second reaction that creates petrichor occurs when chemicals produced by soil-dwelling bacteria known as actinomycetes are released. These aromatic compounds combine to create the pleasant petrichor scent when rain hits the ground."

ELI5/tl;dr: Odors are released after a rainfall in dry periods chemically, and they are pleasant to smell in the air.

It smells wonderful and I advise you to open your windows after it rains, too. Sometimes opening windows may have dust come in, especially if you live next to a major road, but after rain? Just do it.

You could also get a good view, just by walking outside, seeing how everything is soaked, dripping in water.

SG77 Reacts #1: The FUNNIEST fast money! Family Feud

"His nickname is shameless."

Family Feud is a great show to watch, and you can play along with it too! Wait, that's not my main point right now.

Okay, so today I'll be reacting to "The FUNNIEST fast money!" This was back in 2013, when the show was still rising in popularity. Let's react.

Alright, it's fast money, and brings up the contestant, Jim. Steve says his normal rules of fast money, and the round begins.

Success or Failure? Let's find out.

1. Steve: When you're feeling tense, name something that will loosen you up.

Jim: "Reading."

Eh, I thought maybe a shower?

2. Steve: Tell me how much a large popcorn costs at a movie theater.

Jim: "3 dollars."

Woah, They cost about 7-8 bucks here in Canada, are they from the mid-west, where food are cheaper?

3. Steve: Give me a word that rhymes with "please".

Jim: Seize.

Seize? While it DOES rhyme, that has a "z" in the word! Might be worth 0 points, haha.

4. Steve: What is your worst driving habit?

Jim: Texting.

Absolutely, probably his best answer, should get around 20-25 points.

5. Steve: Name something in their homes that people always keep hidden.

Jim: Phone numbers.

WHAT?!

Oh man! I think he'll get about 50 points, I only like his first and fourth answer.

Steve now says Jim's answers one by one and look at the board.

Steve: When you're feeling tense, name something that will loosen you up. You said... "Reading". Survey said:

Wow. I'm shocked that it's worth ZERO points, and so is Jim, shaking his head.

The next two answers get him 7 and 4 points respectively, and I'm thinking, okay, this has gone south quick. On to the fourth question.

Steve: What is your worst driving habit? You said... Texting. Steve asks Jim if he texts and drives, and he says he doesn't, but he thinks that America does. I agree with that statement. Well, according to America, only 3 people say it's their worst driving habit.

Now we're really in the crappers. Jim says this is horrible, and Steve can't believe it.

Steve says the final question, and not surprisingly, 0 people hide phone numbers at home. Wow, 14 points is a record low for the first person fast money (and still stands to today).

I know for a fact that every time someone scores low, Steve makes fun of the score to the next person (who was Paul), and he did just that. Steve starts laughing sooo hard! What a man, a comedian.

He asks Paul's relationship with Jim, and he said that he is his older brother. Steve: It showed! Damn...

Paul says that his nickname is "shameless". That gets a chuckle from the audience.

Steve finally sees his brother's score, and he was shocked. On the other hand, Steve starts bawling, barely keeping himself together, and can't even move on to tell the rules.

Meanwhile, Jim makes a joke out of his score.

"That's two touchdowns!"

Lol, what he said is true, but it barely helps reach the 200 needed points!

This next part is my favourite. Steve says the rules to him again, then he says:

Steve: (talking about duplicating answers) "...Anyway, don't worry about it, if you do duplicate it, you'll hear this sound [buzzer], YOU"LL NEVER HEAR THAT."

I just lost it there. The audience keeps laughing when Steve put Jim's answers back o the board, and by now, even Jim's having a crack at it.

But guess what? Jim actually did good in his round, getting 124 points total (50 points on the final question). Now the total is at 138 points, which I'm happy about, because that is a pretty good score after the ultimate fail earlier.

This has to do down as the second most funniest fast money moment that I have ever watched. I say that the "Name a three letter animal" question was funnier. The contestants said FROG and ALLIGATOR. Oh my goodness.

SG77 Reacts: New Series!

Hey everyone, I've decided to blog for a third time. It's summer again, and I have time to blog again! (applause)

Seriously, after about a five month break, I think I'll try to start a react post on videos I watch on YouTube. I will try to blog about different videos, but will be personally be picked by me, and I need to have some connection with them. For example, I would more likely blog about

"Dunkin' Donuts VS. Krispy Kreme"

(Krispy > Dunkin', IMO)

They are two leading donut franchises in the USA, and because I've tried both of them, I would know what to be saying in my post, than to blog about

"How Pinkie Pie Got Her Cutie Mark - My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Season 1"

I don't have a clue about My Little Pony, so I can't blog about this.

For the record, I have watched under 5 seconds of the series, and it was only to watch this:

Yeah, it's an lol moment

I'm not going to react about politics, religion, or anything controversial. That's the only rules. So be prepared to read react posts! I already know my first two videos, and they both will be posted on my blog by the end of the week.
