My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #4

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters, but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE
4. Ralph Wiggum

Bio: Ralph is a student who goes to Springfield Elementary School. He is an oddball, and has been known for his erratic behavior. His lines range from purely nonsensical, or bizarre interpretations of a current event. Ralph is somewhat of an outcast with his classmates, although he seems to be friends with the other kids at school, such as Bart, Lisa, and Milhouse. At school, he asks funny questions is isn't the smartest student in class, though.

Why I Like Ralph Wiggum: He has plenty of one-liners, such as "Hello, Super Nintendo Chalmers", "When I grow up, I want to a president or a catapillar", or "I used the Lisa name, and the Ralph answers!" (he got an "F" on the quiz).

Fun Fact: His favorite swear word is "mitten."

One Time Character: No, he is a recurring character.

Funny Video:

FEMALE
4. Sherri and Terri

Bio: The girls are a pair of twins that go to Springfield Elementary School. Terri is younger than Sherri by two seconds. They are a little bit strange at times. They berate Bart in some episodes. No one knows whether one twin is Terri or Sherri. However, they are actually triplets. Sherri and Terri have long, purple hair and always wear the same clothes.

Why I Like Sherri and Terri: They're twins! They are funny when they talk to other students and have kissed Bart for jokes back in the very early seasons. Besides, Lisa is good friends with both of the girls.

Fun Fact: They do not like eating at Arby's, the fast food restaurant.

One Time Character: No, but they only occasionally talk.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #5

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters, but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE
5. Apu Nahasapeemapetilon

Bio: Apu is an Indian immigrant who owns the Kwik-E-Mart, a popular convenience store in Springfield, and is well known for his catchphrase, "Thank you, come again." Apu is a naturalized US citizen, and holds a Ph.D. in computer science. He has 8 kids, and they are octoplets. At times, he does not always get along with his wife, Manjula, and has once dated another woman. Apu is usually polite towards people, as he always saying thank you when someone buys something at his store. However, he sometimes manipulate customers into buying things they don't really need, sells some items at expensive up prices. Even though Apu works long hours at the Kwik-E-Mart and gets sleepy at times, he keeps going to support his family.

Why I Like Apu: He's a funny Indian person. Can you believe he has been shot by Snake multiple times and is still alive? All this time though, he is a good and hard working man.

Fun Fact: Apu is a vegan.

One Time Character: No, he is a secondary character in the show.

5. Marge Simpson

Bio: Marge is the wife of Homer and the mother of 3 kids. She is the moralistic force in the family and often provides a grounding voice in her family's antics by trying to maintain order in the Simpson household. She has a pair of sisters, named Patty and Selma. Marge is a homemaker and does not own a real job. Marge has high morals and a tendency to be a wet blanket, as Homer puts it. She dislikes and tries to avoid taking any sort of risks in life.

Why I Like Marge: No big reason, but she keeps the family together IMO. She too has her own catchphrases of "mmm..." and her laugh is also known well. Also, she plays around with Maggie, and I like the gag.

Fun Fact: Marge's hair is two feet and one inch long.

One Time Character: No, she is one of the main characters in the show.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #6

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters, but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE

6. Bart Simpson

Bio: Bart is the mischievous, rebellious child of Homer and Marge Simpson, and the older brother of Lisa and Maggie. He is a fourth grader in Springfield Elementary School, and is quite a prankster, as he normally plays jokes on Principal Skinner and his teacher, Edna. He plays sports and is an expert at skateboarding. At times, he is not the brightest person, though, because he gets poor grades at school most of the time. Bart has had 8 girlfriends (maybe 9 or 10 if you include Shauna and Zhenya) in the entire series, and unfortunately, he is not dating any of them right now, but still remains intact with some of them. Elsewhere, he has a weird vibe with his family.

Other things Bart is good at is cooking, dancing, driving cars (he is 10 years old and has a licence!), and spray painting. Bart's spray painting nickname is El Barto. In the earlier seasons, there was a running gag with Bart making prank calls to Moe, and Moe always has an angry reaction to his calls.

Why I Like Bart: He has many quotes, includ
ing his most popular "Aye Caramba!" Bart is funny, he has many up and down relationships, and

Fun Fact: Bart has ADHD.

One Time Character: Absolutely not, he is appeared in every episode except one.

FEMALE

6. Alex Whitney

Bio: Alex is a student at Springfield Elementary. She owns her own mobile phone, purse, and a credit card in second grade. She has pierced her and her friends' ears with the help of thumb tacks and paper towels. At a young age, Alex enjoys shopping and dating. Her favorite perfume scent is Calvin Klein's Pretension and her favorite drink is iced tea. She always has lip gloss, perfume, and a spare pair of shoes in her pink fuzzy back pack.

Why I Like Alex: She's a chill girl to talk to (if you've watched the episode, Alex has so enthusiastic when first meeting Lisa). Alex is very out-going and seems like a truly, loyal friend. Also, I like her hair and her beret, it has a nice look on her.

Fun Fact: Alex is voiced by Lisa Kudrow, who acted as the role of Phoebe in the sitcom Friends. She also tells Lisa to "not be such a Phoebe", a reference her character.

One Time Character: Yes, she only makes a cameo in three other episodes after her main episode, Lard of the Dance.

First Day of Winter (or Summer): December 21

Well, today is the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere. The days have been getting shorter, and now we've finally reached the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. The solstice marks the moment the sun shines at its most southern point, directly over the Tropic of Capricorn.

What happens in the winter solstice? The winter solstice is an astronomical event, based on the Earth's tilt away from the sun. On this day, the tilt of the North Pole is positioned the farthest away from the sun, causing less light to reach the northern hemisphere.

Elsewhere, people in the southern hemisphere will experience the longest day and shortest night of the year, which is the exact opposite of what's happening in the north.

One tradition in the winter solstice is having revellers gather at Stonehenge to watch the sunrise on the shortest day every year. This is a major pagan festival and has been celebrated for thousands of years.

So wherever you are, enjoy your first day on winter or summer.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #7

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters (Would they even be on here though? Find out.), but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE

7. Lenny and Carl

Bio: Lenny and Carl are best friends of Homer Simpson and work with him at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Lenny and Carl are rarely seen apart and have a close relationship. They go to Moe's to drink with Homer and Barney regularly.

Lenny grew up in Chicago with his father. He has poor luck with women, however, he is very persistent. Lenny is a member of the Republican party. He has also wrote a series of mystery novels.

Carl grew up in Iceland when he was little. He often serves as a taciturn straight man to people, probably because of his harsh opinions of others. Surprisingly, his IQ is extremely high, with an IQ of 214. One sport he likes to play is bowling, as he is a fan of it. Carl also has a Foghorn Leghorn on his right thigh.

Why I Like Lenny and Carl: They are close friends and have great chemistry with each other. Anyone who drinks at Moe's is very funny, and they have good one-liners.

Fun Fact: They are BOTH Buddhist.

One Time Character: No, they are recurring.

Funny Video:

FEMALE

7. Edna Krabappel

Bio: Edna is a fourth grade teacher at Springfield Elementary School. She lives on 744 Evergreen Terrace, after marrying Ned Flanders, the widower of Maude Flanders. Edna is portrayed as a typical mid-life single adult, heavy smoker, gambler, and a drinker, while  trying to find the right man. She had numerous affairs with many men, but her first choice has always been Principal Skinner. However, she mostly dated him for pity rather than affection. From season 23-25, Edna married Ned Flanders.

At times, Edna has a has a loneliness and uncaring attitude towards her students, especially Bart. Despite this, Bart and Edna are close friends at heart, as Bart once nominated her for Teacher of the Year and went to a movie together she was depressed that Skinner had blown her off.

Why I Like Edna: Nothing much to say, but she's funny with Bart and I liked her relationship with Skinner and Flanders. There were even episodes that mainly focused on her relationships with the two.

Fun Fact: She owns a baking company called Edna's Edibles.

One Time Character: No, she is recurring, but she has not been on the show since 2013 because the person who voices her died.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #8

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters (Would they even be on here though? Find out.), but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE

8. Nelson Muntz

Bio: Nelson is a student at Springfield Elementary School, and he is in the fourth grade. He is well known for his signature mocking laugh "Ha-ha!" Once an enemy, he is an on-and-off friend of Bart Simpson. He is known to have terrorized virtually every kid in Springfield at one point in the show. However, it is the school nerds and less popular students, such as Milhouse and Martin, who are usually the victims of Nelson.

Living in a poor family, his family life is dysfunctional. Nelson's father abandoned him when he was young, but came back with the help of Bart finding him. His mother works in the sex industry, such as a stripper or a waitress at Hooters. Elsewhere, he has once dated Lisa, and even kissed her, but when Lisa caught him lying to her, they broke up. Nelson is also a natural sports star. He led Springfield Pee-Wee football team to the finals.

Why I Like Nelson: Nelson has a trademark quote. "Ha ha!" He makes fun of people a lot, and sometimes when he's poor and does weird things (he ate fish in a fountain of water in the park until Marge saw him), I'll laugh in question. Also, Nelson can be nice to people at times, and that's amusing.

Fun Fact: Nelson is German decent.

One Time Character: No, he is a recurring character.

Funny Video:

FEMALE

8. Agnes Skinner

Bio: Agnes is the strict and bitter mother of Seymour Skinner. She is very harshly controlling of Seymour, and treats him like a mother would a small child. Agnes Skinner's catchphrase is "Seymour!" often used to snap her son's attention.

She is a widow and has been married four times. But Agnes has been in relationships with younger men in the series, such as Comic Book Guy. They have dated and made out in CBG's apartment once. Also, she has competed in the 1952 Olympics.

Why I Like Agnes: Eh, I wouldn't say I like her, but her actions are comical. Everything she sees, she will make fun of it. She is mean to everyone, even to CBG when they dated. "Nobody will buy those. Your store smells. Now kiss me, funny face." LOL.

Fun Fact: She is 95 years old.

One Time Character: No, she is in the show occansionally.

Funny Video:
Typical Agnes.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #9

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters (Would they even be on here though? Find out.), but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE

9. Seymour Skinner

Bio: Seymour Skinner is the principal of Springfield Elementary School. He struggles to control the school at times, as he is constantly engaged in a battle against rowdy and unenthusiastic students, like Bart Simpson. A strict principal, Skinner has a militaristic attitude that comes from his time in the Vietnam War. He is quick to take orders from his mother, Agnes, and Superintendent Chalmers. He is often weak and nervous on his mother, who torments him.

Skinner is also highly intelligent. He is a member of the Mensa, meaning that his IQ is at least 130. Skinner has dated Edna for a long time in an up-and-down relationship, but are not married.

Why I Like Skinner: He and Bart have a huge rivalry, and every time Bart wins, I laugh at Skinner's loss. And if Skinner has to work with Bart, the result is never going to be perfect. Skinner always gets yelled at his mom, Agnes, and Superintendent Chalmers. Too bad that has died over the years, because it was very funny.

Fun Fact: Skinner is highly allergic to peanuts.

One Time Character: No, he is a recurring character.

Funny Video:

Skinner Punk'd!

FEMALE

9. Mona Simpson

Bio: Mona was the wife of Abe Simpson and the mother of Homer Simpson. Mona became a political activist and protested germ research in Montgomery Burns's laboratory and destroyed all the biological warfare experiments. As the gang escaped, she stayed behind to help a fallen Burns, but told her to be thrown in jail for the rest of her life. Mona escaped, but since that night, Mona was forced to leave her family. She came back 27 years later (in season 7) to meet Homer's family, but had to escape again to hide from Burns and the FBI.

She comes back 8 seasons later to see Homer again, but gets arrested. While on the prison bus, the bus drives off the cliff, and Mona narrowly escapes again. In season 19, Mona returns to the Simpson's house, but after staying for one night, she dies. Homer then throws her ashes on a mountain the next day.

Why I Like Mona: She was very touching to Homer and really cares about him after all the years she left him. Mona is a sweet person and I was happy when the show brought her back in Homer's dream (How I Wet Your Mother; she was dead already). All episodes that involved her were sad.

Fun Fact: Mona made two cameos on The Simpsons before her formal introduction in Season 7.

One Time Character: Well, she has spoken in only 4 episodes, but Mona plays a role in each episode.

Funny Video: There is no funny one, but this video is the saddest clip according to fans on The Simpsons EVER.

My Top 10 Male and Female Simpsons Characters: #10

I love the Simpsons, but there are characters I love more than others. So I am counting down my top 10 characters that ever appeared on The Simpsons for both genders. They could be a main person on the show, or someone who lurks in the background.

I will count one-time characters (Would they even be on here though? Find out.), but no guest stars nor animals. Here we go.

MALE

10. Barney Grumble

Bio: Barney is Springfield's town drunk and Homer Simpson's best friend. Being a frequent customer at Moe's, drinking alcohol is his main hobby. His desperation for alcohol has been the source of many jokes. He remains friendly and good despite his unfortunate condition. However, Barney has worked in two successful jobs, as the Plow King, and owns a bowling alley with his uncle. In one episode, he tries to be sober by taking helicopter lessons, and it helped him overcome liquor a bit.

Why I like Barney: He's funny! He burps a lot and can act hilarious when near beer. In some episodes he was laying on the ground drinking and was very intoxicated. But at the end, he is still friendly to his buddies.

Fun Fact: Barney was an A-student back in high school, until he started drinking.

One Time Character: Nope, he has appeared in approximately one-third of The Simpsons episodes (and counting).

FEMALE

10. Laura Powers

Bio: Laura is a tomboyish teenage girl who lived next door to the Simpsons. She is the first crush of Bart. While being a joker at times, she also has etiquette and manners. When Homer and Marge went for dinner, Laura babysit Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, and Bart grew a crush on her until she tells him she had a boyfriend. Bart tries his best to get rid of her boyfriend, Jimbo, and succeeds. At the end, Bart gets a kiss from her. Laura is laid-back and has a charming personality. Some of her extracurricular activities include babysitting and telling fortunes.

Why I Like Laura: She would a great teenager to hang out with in real life. Laura was never mad in the episode and can joke around. She is a good person and I like the clothes she wears, too.

Fun Fact: Sara Gilbert voiced her back in 1992.

One Time Character: Yes, her next cameo was not until 15 years later, in the Simpsons Movie in 2007.
