That's all, and hope you enjoy what I post!

PS- Random picture is from S27 E6 Friend With Benefit (yeah, yeah, the name is interesting). Lisa and Harper (the girl on the left) befriend each other, but things go wary when Lisa wonders why she isn't friendly later on in the episode...

The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 9: Thursdays With Abie

At the water park with the family, Abe meets a journalist named Marshall Goldman. Goldman is interested of hearing Abe old stories, and Abe is happy that someone cares about his stories. Marshall publishes Abe's story in the Springfield Shopper, and Homer is shocked that other people find Abe's stories interesting.

In his next story, Abe tells of giving a not-yet-famous Clark Gable a shoe shine at the Springfield railway station and lending him a copy of Gone with the Wind, but still remembers his anger at not being paid. Marshall writes up this story as well and Abe's fame grows. Homer decides to visit his father, but Abe tells him off, suggesting that Homer only wants to spend time with him now that he is famous. Marge tells Homer that is angry with himself for not having spent more time with his dad.

Homer listens to Mr. Burns' story and writes his own column. He takes it to the Springfield Shopper (where it is quickly shredded). While at the newspaper office, Homer sneaks into Marshall's office and discovers a manuscript that Marshall intends to submit for a Pulitzer Prize. The manuscript states that Abe is dead and Homer realizes that Marshall intends to kill Abe.

He rushes to the railway station, but arrives late. With the help of Lenny and Carl, Homer breaks through a window just as Marshall pulls out a gun. The two fight, but Abe pulls the emergency brake and Marshall is knocked out by a lots of boxes. Homer and his father trap Marshall and they reconcile.

Elsewhere, Bart gets Larry the Lamb, a stuffed sheep toy that each student in Mrs. Krabappel's room takes a turn caring for for the weekend. Bart resents the stuffed toy, so Lisa offers to take care of him. However, she accidentally loses Larry down a drain. Bart goes in to retrieve him, and is chased by sewer rats and sewer cats before finding Larry on a pipe. Bart uses Larry to slide to safety but the toy rips and Bart crashes through a grate to a beach.

My thoughts:

Couch Gag: Homer walks onto a metal circle, it actually is a pinball starter, and he started bouncing eventually going into Moe's. The rest of the family comes out eventually falling down and Maggie shortly comes up then comes back down.

Storyline: I liked the beginning of the episode with the waterpark. The background was nice, and the Slimu scene was funny. Under the radar joke: Lady Announcer: "Let's give a wet and wacky welcome to Springfield's oldest performing mollusk." Homer: "Get to the show!" Lady Anouncer: "This IS the show!" I loved that part.

Back to the plot, I think this was an alright episode starring Grampa Simpson. The main plot that featured him was nice, but it was bland and wasn't so engaging. I didn't like how the main plot ended up with that Marshall trying to kill Grampa; it just felt wierd and didn't make much sense. The humor were average, a few moments such as the gag with Homer's brain deleting his memory files and getting an error message which was the best joke and moment in the episode. Marge's photos and Carl/Lenny on top the train were also fuuny.

The B-plot was fine, it had a pretty decent start, and Lisa taking it along, but that’s where it lost its base, after she lost it. It was a great turn to see Bart actually holding more morality than Lisa this time. But Bart gets his sewer adventure and that was it… It just ended with the lamb being ripped in two after saving him. Oh well, I wished the B-plot had a resolution. Also, Nelson was annoying in this episode.

Overall, a mediocre episode, only a couple jokes stood out to me, and the B-plot was average.

The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 8: O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

When the power goes out during a blizzardBart participates in a pretend fashion show put on by Lisa and Maggie. When he notices the bond shared by the two girls, Lisa suggests that he's jealous because he does not have a brother. That night, Bart dreams about being in a park with lots of brothers, such as the Wright Brothers, the Mario Brothers, the Mannings (CooperEli and Peyton), and more. Bart awakens with the realization that he wants a brother.

At the bus stop. Nelson advises Bart to trick Marge and Homer into having a baby. Bart gets two attempts to have his parents have a baby, but fails. Marge then catches Bart tampering with her birth control pills and he confesses that he wants a brother. Despite feeling bad for Bart, Marge explains that she is fine with three kids and also points out that even if the family did end up having another baby, the baby may end up being another girl instead of a boy. Bart goes to the local orphanage, and gets a young boy named Charlie, who follows him home.

Bart and Charlie do activities together, such as playing pranks on Principal Skinner and hanging out at the Kwik-E-Mart. Lisa insists that Charlie should be returned to the orphanage, but Bart disagrees.

He takes Charlie to see a horror movie called Sever V. The movie terrifies Charlie, which makes Bart realize that being an older brother requires responsibility. On their way back from the movie, Chief Wiggum tries to capture Charlie and bring him back to the orphanage, but the two boys escape and hide in a snowbank.

In the snowbank, Lisa finds them, and she pleads to Bart to let Charlie be legally adopted by another family. Suddenly, the children are sealed in by a snowplow (by Barney riding on his Plow King truck), and Bart and Charlie urinate on the snow to melt it and open an escape tunnel.

Charlie is later adopted by a family with six girls, who all treat him like a fashion doll. To cheer Bart up, Homer takes him to see Sever V.

My thoughts:

How many times have I watched it: Twice

Couch Gag: The living room furniture is dancing to disco music until the Simpsons come in and Homer yells, "Hey!" The furniture returns to normal and they sit on the couch. I liked the music. (B)

Storyline: First of all, I liked the usage of snow in this episode. It also makes for some neat gray-and-cloudy atmospherics, like Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney sitting on top of the drainage pipe. Anyway, The entire story felt developed, things were actually genuine here and the whole family was well-included and all were relevant to the story. Lisa and Maggie's bonding was nice, and Bart goes to desperate measures. Bart and Charlie hanging out together was great. I wished it lasted longer as it only started midway through the second act.

This episode was funny. The South Park parody was fantastic. I was not expecting that. Lisa's "You took too long to make an obvious decision!" comment was amusing. Other stuff I laughed at were Nelson's running gag with the pills, Bart and Charlie's escape plan, Charlie's adoption fate, and the fashion show with Maggie and Lisa. The dream sequence was something I couldn't stand though. The Mannings and Mario and Luigi were the only people that I liked in the dream. The biggest surprise in the show to me was when Charlie and Bart urinated in the snow. WOW. I loved Lisa's reaction.

Overall, a very strong episode.

The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 7: Rednecks and Broomsticks

While returning from a ski vacation, BartLisa, and Maggie spend hours playing the repetitive and noisy game "Bonk-It" (parody of Bop It). Homer loses his patience and throws the toy out the window, where it is crushed by passing vehicles. Somehow, another Bonk-It lands in the back seat of the car. Homer then smashes the Bonk-It with his foot, but it becomes lodged under the brake pedal. He loses control of the vehicle, hits a deer, and ends up on a frozen lake, where a mysterious person drags them out and back to a ranch.

When the family wakes up, they discover that the mysterious person who saved them was Cletus. Cletus tells Homer about moonshine, and invites him to taste the latest batch. Homer impresses Cletus and his hillbilly friends with his moonshine-tasting skills and is invited to be the judge of a moonshine competition.

Meanwhile, Bart and Cletus's sons play with a box of grenades, and Lisa plays hide and seek with Cletus's daughters. They do not find her, and Lisa gets lost in the woods. Trying to find her way back, she encounters three girls who are Wiccans, practicing their full moon Esbat

At the ranch, Homer invites Lenny and Carl to drink moonshine with Cletus, and they have a good time, having fun with each other.

Lisa becomes interested after she happens to mention in the witches' Circle that she wishes she did not have to hand in her unfinished art project, and her wish comes true when Miss Hoover gets a stomach virus. The girls ask Lisa to join their group and she accepts. But before she gets inducted, Chief Wiggum arrests the three girls on suspicion of witchcraft.

Outside the courtroom, the girls say a chant, asking their goddess to show their persecutors that they are blind. Many of the townspeople then suddenly become blind, and blame the three girls, who are then put on trial. When the judge dismisses the case, the townspeople decide to drown the girls in an impromptu witch trial

However, Lisa proves that the real culprits behind the blindness are Homer and his friends, who threw their moonshine in to the town's reservoir after thinking that they were about to be arrested by the police. The girls are released and thank Lisa.

My thoughts:

Billboard Gag: Springfield Retirement Castle "Get Me Out Of Here!" (with Grampa Simpson in background). That's been mentioned in older episodes before. (B)

Chalkboard Gag: Teachers' unions are not ruining this country. Meh, I live in Canada. (C+)

Couch Gag Simpsons family at Thanksgiving table preparing plates, then sitting in front of TV eating and watching football. This one I enjoyed. (A+)

Storyline: The Bonk It gag went on and on, then came the hillbilly jokes. It seemed to take forever for the plot to really get anywhere, Homer's moonshine drinking and Lisa's approaching the Wiccans didn't come in until the end of the first act. Things got a little better from there, and even though Homer's decision to stick around with Cletus and the gang was "eh", It was funny to see the alcohol tie back into the main plot. I do think it would have been much funnier for Lisa to just reveal the jug instead of explaining what happened.

I did like the main plot with Lisa. The scene with Lisa and Bart in her room was great, from Bart's sax prank backfiring, Wiccapedia, and Flanders spying through the window. The modern age jokes about the girls were very funny, and I really liked Moe at the ranch. Then came the climax which again had an abrupt conclusion, but I enjoyed how they tied it all together. As for Lisa herself, I kind of liked her characterization here of skeptic turned believer, or at the very least curious.

Overall, a decent episode, but could be better.

DVADI Soccer

You might remember this game, DVADI Soccer. But if you don't, you should play it now on a computer! It's fun, and depending on what you are playing, you could be battling in a tournament, competing in a league, or playing with a friend. So play this game, there's even an unblocked game of this but the teams are older (2014), and have fun!

Here are a few snapshots:

The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 6: Pranks and Greens

(Episode 5 is a Treehouse of Horror episode, not watching that)

When Bart is caught for playing pranks on the teachers, Principal Skinner reveals to Bart that he is not the greatest prankster ever at the school. Bart sets out to discover the identity of this prankster. After looking through archives of the school paper, he discovers that there was two week gap in its publication, and that there was a change in Skinner's appearance before and after the gap.

Groundskeeper Willie tells Bart that he was once the school swim instructor, and that Principal Skinner was a laid-back principal until "Night of the Wigglers." A prankster locked Skinner in a pool full of earthworms for an entire weekend. This experience changed Skinner's personality for the worst. Willie tells Bart that the prankster was named Andy Hamilton.

Bart meets Andy Hamilton and finds out he is unemployed and lives with his mother. When Lisa calls Andy a "loser", Bart gets him a job as Krusty's assistant, but is angry when Andy quits after one day. Bart gets him rehired and goes to checks on him. But when a truck full of earthworms drives into the studio, Bart is terrified that Andy is repeating the "Night of the Wigglers" prank (in the process of trying to stop Krusty.

He discovers that it is part of the show and that Andy has been hired as a writer for Krusty's show. Andy says that his pranking days are over, and thanks Bart for believing that he could grow up.

Elsewhere, Marge is criticized by other Springfield mothers for serving unhealthy snacks at their "Midday Mommies" meeting. She burns the family's junkfood. The family purchases organic food at a local market, but Marge gets criticized again when she uses non-stick bakeware and plastic (7) drinking bottles. The other mothers storm away.

My thoughts:

Blackboard Gag: Dr. Otto's "Wellness Clinic". I would never go there. (B)

Chalkboard Gag: Halloween does not kick Thanksgiving's ass. Eh, it's OK. (C+)

Couch Gag: The Simpson's sing the Twelve Days of Christmas with different Springfield citizens. Funny to watch but it's too long. (B+)

Storyline: This was a strong episode plot-wise. Bart's characterization was great. Him actually looking at Andy played out nicely as well. At first he's in awe and absolutely loving it, but then Lisa points something out to him and that causes him to reanalyze his original opinion on Andy. Seeing Bart lecture Andy on actually growing up was something great to see. Bart really did sell the episode, though. The Milhouse abuse was a bit over-the-top, but Andy was a pretty good character and him with Bart worked.

The Marge story was okay? It had some amusing kids song parodies, and a funny joke about the grocery clerk reading off their order. I did not like the hiding junk food scene. C'mon, that was pointless and stupid.

There weren't many jokes after the first act though. I liked the flashbacks with Willie, Skinner, the newspaper headlines, they were good. Moleman falling out of the ambulance,
Abe showering, and Skinner watching Krusty were decent mini-jokes after the first act.

One last thing: Lisa's LOSER scenes was absolute CRAP. It was overdone and I'm not a fan of it.

Overall, not a bad episode, but there were some flaws.

My grade: B-

Why Dasani Water is Bad

I hate Dasani Water, but I just realized that the water is even WORSE than I thought. Here is why the water sucks.

What goes in bottled water? Surely it’s just water, right? Maybe a bit of salt? Well, if the bottled water in question is Dasani, you’ll find a bit more than salt and water on the label. There are some additional ingredients, two of which are potassium chloride and magnesium sulfate.

Potasium Chloride: This is a chemical murder weapon. Your body actually produces potassium chloride, but just enough of it. Nobody, except patients with abnormally low levels of potassium, needs any extra. Interestingly enough, it’s especially not recommended for people suffering from dehydration. Yet it’s in water. Dehydration sucks, but death is a lot worse. And death is exactly what happens when your body gets too much potassium chloride. Potassium chloride can also be found in fertilizer. The reason it’s found in Dasani? For taste.
Magnesium sulfate: Also known as Epsom salt, who would possibly think that their bottled water could potentially harm their a woman's fetus? That’s exactly what the magnesium sulfate in Dasani bottled water can do. That harm comes in the form of fetal bone damage. The risks begin when the pregnant mother consumes magnesium sulfate for more than 5 days straight. Unless said mother is planning on just taking a couple days off from water altogether, I’d say that’s a pretty good reason to kick Dasani to the curb for good.

And check this out, too.

The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 4: The Devil Wears Nada

At the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, HomerLenny, and Carl are celebrating their freedom from supervision after their supervisor has a retirement party. Suddenly, Mr. Burns arrives and chooses Carl as the new supervisor, after seeing that he is the best employee of the three.

Meanwhile, to raise money, Marge and her "Charity Chicks" group decide to follow the Springfield Police Department's "sexy" calendar. At the photo studio, Marge does not want to show any skin. But Julio, the photographer, loosens her up with red wine, and she ends up revealing more than she planned. Marge and her erotic poses are soon on calendars which has everyone in Springfield talking about.

Back at the plant, Carl makes Homer his new assistant. But when Marge wants to make love with Homer, he is too exhausted to satisfy her. Homer tries to make up for it by taking Marge out to a hotel. They try to have a romantic night together, Homer receives a phone call from Carl who tells him they are going to Paris on a business trip. When Homer leaves for Paris the next morning, Marge invites Ned Flanders and his children for dinner.

In Paris, Carl flirts with a beautiful woman, and he tells Homer that he plans to extend their stay indefinitely. Homer gets upset, and walks through the streets where everything reminds him of Marge (and Moe).

In Springfield, Bart and Lisa leave on Marge's dinner, and Ned shows up alone because Rod and Todd have been grounded. The dinner turns romantic, and Marge and Ned nearly kiss, but Marge sees of a wedding photo with Homer and find out that the food has finished cooking.

Meanwhile, Homer has forced Carl to give him his old job back by revealing that the woman Carl flirted with is actually the wife of the President of France. Homer arrives home just as Marge is bidding Ned goodnight, and Homer and Marge make love, undisturbed.

My thoughts:

How many times have I seen it: Twice

Billboard Gag: Don't Face This Christmas Sober (A picture of Duffman holding a beer). No comment. (C)

Chalkboard Gag: I do not have the hots for my mom. You don't, Bart? (B)

Couch Gag: The Simpsons sit on a log that sinks into La Bra Tar Pits. Then their skeletons are then shown on display in a museum. The skulls were cool. (B-)

Storyline: I thought it was good. I don't think Homer and Marge's characterizations were so odd. I do think Flanders was maybe a little bit out of character, they got a little too fast to the kissing scene, though maybe the wine helped a little. The episode was a little disjointed with the calendar thing having a very thin relation with the main plot, but whatever, I'll let it go. I liked Carl getting promoted. It was a very good idea since he's always been smarter than Homer and Lenny. They did a good job making him a little bad, but without overdoing it. The backgrounds in Paris were nicely done, especially during those small music montages.

The jokes were fine, the highlights were:
-Julio saying "Don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, okay, you can stop now."
-Marge's breasts turning into Carl's head.
-Homer's bad luck with the dice. "Whisper Into Ass" was hilarious.
-Homer/Lenny/Carl's dream car race. "I win!"-Lenny
-Chief Wiggum on the Calendar.

Homer's dancing was cringy, and the school scene with Bart being made fun of were not necessary, especially Skinner/Chalmers laughing at Bart. That's all though.

Overall, a decent episode.

My grade: B+
