The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 11: Million Dollar Maybe

Homer and Marge are scheduled sing at a cousin's wedding reception, causing Marge to become nervous. Homer tells her not to worry, saying that he will make sure they do not mess up. Homer gets a fortune cookie stating that today will be his lucky day, but he does not believe so. But he crashes into a vending machine, causing all of the snacks to fall out on him, and finds an a CD in the parking lot.
Before going to the wedding and sing with Marge, Homer stops by the Kwik-E-Mart for a lottery ticket.  After a long wait, Homer gets his lottery ticket, only to find out the wedding has ended. Hurrying to get to the wedding reception, he crashes off the road. He wakes up in the hospital after the crash, and realizes he won a million dollars in the lottery. Homer does not want Marge to know he missed the wedding to get a lottery ticket though, and has Barney pose as the winner.
Homer secretly leaves gifts for his family members. Bart then discovers that he won the lottery. Threatening to tell Marge, Bart demands that Homer embarrasses himself, and becomes a victim of his own son. Eventually, Homer decides to tell Marge himself and get it over with.

On a hot-air balloon, Homer reveals he won the lottery, causing Marge to be happy and not be furious about his absence at the wedding; but he tells her he spent it all, leaving them back to usual. Marge does not care, saying at least they have each other. They then sing the song they were supposed to sing at the wedding together, off in the sunset.

Meanwhile, Grampa's nursing home do not have any entertainment, and Lisa buys them a digital TV converter. At the store to buy it, she sees Mr. Burns feeling very happy playing Funtendo Zii Sports. She decides to buy the Funtendo Zii Sports for the senior citizens, and when playing the Zii, the they feel very happy and feel younger.

However, the nurses at the home have to work extra hard after their workout, and break their Zii in a dishwasher. Lisa becomes angry at the nurses for doing it on purpose, only to have the nurses blow her off. The senior citizens then return to their boring selves.

My Thoughts:
How many times have I seen it: 2 times
Couch Gag: Homer taps an app called, "Couch Gag" on his myPhone. On the screen. He drags everyone onto the couch, but when he is about to drag himself on it, he gets a call from Mr. Burns. Homer then eats his myPhone. Nice concept as this was back in 2010. (B+)
Storyline: I'm not a fan of this episode. There was the unoriginal, stupidly developed plot with so many scenes that aren't even worth watching (really, the whole "Bart takes advantage of Homer" thing is crap) and a below-average ending. Jokes didn't work either. Homer tossing Bart out (twice), Moe's one-liner, Homer dislocating his shoulder were weak. But I liked Homer's adult magazines. You got me there, Simpsons. The only other things I liked in the main plot were, Bumblebee Man and Homer speaking Spanish, the fake train noises, and the song Marge and Homer sang at the beginning and end of the episode.

Being a Nintendo fan, I loved Wii B-plot. The novelty of seeing Wii Sports played by Grampa and the Jewish Old Man (controlling his "puppet," haha) was cool. Their handshake on the TV at the end of the game was clever to see. This plot really needed a conclusion, though, as it ended with Lisa simply going home, defeated. But again, this was an unhappy ending with the nurses. I needed a good ending, man!

At the end, this was terrible. The B-plot keeps it alive.
My grade: C-/C
